CHOGM, Chewing Cud or Talking Fat?

The Madam bus' it from Bim this morning, leaving our small children to their fate at my hands, which is likely to turn into cheesy toast and/or cereal for breakfast, hot dogs for lunch and more cheesy toast and/or cereal for dinner. Every time she goes away, Chefette does a little better.

She's gone on Cre Ole Barbados business, not to take part in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference which goes by its acronym pronunciation in bureaucratic circles: Ghog-um.

It sounds like chewing gum but the consequences are sure to be more sticky.

And speaking of sticky.

Reading Michael Harris in the Monday Express, brought to Bim by Gregors (who has now gone on to Jamaica, to get tense in preparation for his return to Trinidad), I'm starting to wonder what it will take for Trinidadians to get off their asses and just say, "Hell, No!" If you have not read his excellent piece Going for Broke in the online Express yet, google it and do. (Sorry I'm not Internet savvy enough to provide the link here. But if you like, here's a group of words I underlined myself so you can pretend to: //www.dontbother.com.)

Harris suggests (or at least implies) the recent tete-a-tete between Massas Manning & Panday may result in the establishment, by a simple vote of the current sitting Parliament, of an executive presidency.

I watch - and grill cheesey toast - patiently.

The proposed, T&T Executive Puppet Presidency...
written by Bacon Sempteentwothow, November 12, 2009
…in my opinion, shall be controlled by, and have its ropes pulled by, the cia!!! In this way, U.S. and U.S.-associated business interests shall prevail over the welfare and interests of Trinidad & Tobago, to the further detriment of Trinidadians and Tobagonians!!! The Executive Puppet Presidency shall be a legal, official, cia-controlled dictatorship!

Remember, the cia is an organization par excellence –and, ironically, you’ve got to give them kudos- in successfully destabilizing, and keeping destabilized, countries all over the world, for U.S. business interests -separately or in whatever subset(s) they find themselves- to prevail in siphoning off the prey-countries’ resources (the dark, ‘There Will be Blood’-metaphor of the (long) straw and milkshake comes to mind…).

If the cia can’t destabilize a prey-country or keep that country destabilized through the politics or political process -for years in Trinidad and Tobago, the Panday-PNM combination in T&T has successfully assisted in doing that- in collusion with the corrupt ‘elite,’ it and their prey-country agents will resort to do so via more overt means: coups; assassinations; people genuinely interested in the welfare of their prey-countries being victimized into impotence, murdered, or disappearing just like that (‘desaparecidos’). If the cia has to use the more overt criminals in the prey-country to help them achieve their objectives, they’ll do so.
Make no mistake about it: the cia does not care about T&Tians.

I’ve said so before and I’ll say this again:
I’m of the belief –and remember, belief is not proof- that Basdeo Panday has been a CIA agent- at least one of them- in Trinidad and Tobago, at least prior to 1976! That was first told to me years ago, by someone much older and intelligent than I was (at the time). I didn’t believe it at that time, but as the years went, and I saw more and more of Panday’s statements and actions in the context of the politics and development of T&T, I came around to being convinced that he was a cia agent.

And, if I were the cia, I would be damn proud of our expert, local conman, Basdeo Panday, for the wonderful job that he has done for us –remember, also, that one of Panday’s qualifications is that of an actor- for all these 30-odd years, in helping to keep T&T as a brakish, backwater nation where U.S and U.S.-associated business interests can enter, stay, and drain T&T of its ‘milkshake’ resources.

The Executive Puppet Presidency shall be a legal, official, cia-controlled, ‘straw’ dictatorship for U.S. and U.S.-associated business interests!

And Basdeo Panday, Patrick Manning, and the PNM are helping them in achieving that!!!
